Join Us in Petitioning the Closure of the Seaside Branch

Dear Members,

I would like to notify you of an important update regarding the Seaside Branch of Central Coast Federal Credit Union (CCFCU) located at 4242 Gigling Rd., Seaside, CA 93955.

As you may be aware, this branch is located on a former United States Army Post, Fort Ord.  For the past several months, we have been in lease discussions with the landlord, the Secretary of the Army, to renew our lease for the Seaside Branch. The Secretary of the Army recently notified us that they no longer wish to renew a lease with the Credit Union, and after extensive renegotiation attempts, have formally requested us to vacate the property by the end of the month. We are disappointed by this news because as a result, the Seaside Branch of CCFCU will be closed beginning April 29, 2024.

I would like to stress that this situation is unrelated to our merger with Wescom Credit Union and at the complete request of the Secretary of the Army.  We are fortunate that Wescom shares our commitment to member service and having been aware of the lease issues, quickly identified and closed on a lease for a new branch conveniently located at The Dunes on Monterey Bay – Retail Center in Marina. We couldn’t be more thrilled by this news and hope you share in our excitement for our new branch coming soon.

While we work to get the new branch ready to serve members, Wescom will deploy its mobile banking truck, Big Blue, near The Dunes Shopping Center to assist members with cashless transactions, including opening new accounts and new loan applications beginning April 29, 2024. Although cashless, Big Blue has an ATM that will offer fee-free cash withdrawals. For other transactions (e.g. cash deposits, cashier’s checks, money orders), members may visit any of our other branches or ATMs – including our deposit-taking Marina ATM located at 265 Reservation Rd. #C103, Marina, CA 93933. Starting in June, you may visit any of the Wescom branches located throughout Monterey County and Southern California.

We sincerely apologize for the inconvenience that this may cause, which is why we are asking you to join us in petitioning for a 9-month extension to keep the current Seaside Branch open while we get the new branch ready. There are two ways to participate in the petition:
